Overview

One of my favorite projects, I was privileged to develop branding for the Hamilton Games Festival, a charity event in my hometown that donates all proceeds toward accessibility development in video games. To visually intersect the gaming world with a strong sense of the host city, I turned the local iconic monument, "Billy Yank," into a game character exploring his world! I had so much fun channeling my passion for my hometown into this system.

Atop the Soldiers, Sailors, and Pioneers monument in Hamilton, Ohio, is ‘Billy Yank,’ whose image has come to represent the city's spirit. The past decade has seen Billy’s silhouette pop up on t-shirts, stickers, and the like, but never as a full-fledged character. With host locations across Hamilton for the festival, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to let Billy explore his entire city, just as the gamers in attendance will!

The geometric illustration style can be seen in game worlds from tabletop to PC to console games, and the classic saturated colors are just nostalgic enough to immerse you in the games of your childhood.
